Coaching, Mentoring & Consultancy
In addition to my personal research programme, I
have a highly regarded international mentoring and coaching practice that
supports the development of individual research programmes and the career progression
of others.I currently work with nine colleagues, in the UK, Australia,
Ireland and the US. My approach to this work is structured and
process-oriented, focusing on specific aspects of personal development, goal
identification and attainment, situational awareness and strategic leadership.
Consultancy
Over the past two decades I have worked with blue chip organisations in the private and public sector to support the development and implementation of innovations in health technologies and service organisation. More recently, I have linked my consultancy work to my coaching and mentoring practice and concentrated on supporting the development of research strategy, focus and capacity in universities. My consultancy work now ranges from strategic support for the development of major research centres, developmental work with particular research groups, relationship building between university and health service provider organisations, through to career development and capacity building workshops for early career researchers.
Accountability
In all aspects of my work I am committed to working in the public interest. I seek to avoid actual or perceived conflicts of interest, and never accept fees for personal work where these might give rise to questions about probity.
